Journal Pen Holder Craft

I love to incorporate pen holders with my junk journals so I came up with this super easy craft!

Supplies needed:
* Pen, of course!
*Fabric
*Ribbon or lace
*Fabric or permanent glue (I use Aleene's craft glue)
* A rectangle piece of stiff cardboard (but not too thick)

Optional:
*Clips to hold ribbon in place until glue dries (not neccesary but helps)
*Any emblishments you like!

Directions:
*Glue fabric on both sides of cardboard, let dry.
*Measure two strips of ribbon or lace to go around the cloth covered cardboard.
*Glue in the back leaving some room in the front for the pen to slide in, but tight enough it does not slide out.
*Let dry completely.
*Embellish and done :)

Note:I chose also to glue part of the front down since i just wanted to have one pen in it. If you would like to keep several colored pens in it, do not glue it on top to allow enough room for more to fit.

I glued a bow on top of mine that will stick of my Journal. You can glue on buttons, use an antique brooch, patches of cloth, hole puch atthe bottom or top for dangly stuff to embellish....cute!

Use it as a book mark for your journal or bind your journal with a ribbon tied around the front and just insert the pen holder to keep it with it.
This will make a cute handmade gift too.

I would love to hear your ideas!

Spicy Spagetti Squash with Cranberries-A New Experience

Being the adventurous person I am (with food anyway, ha ha), I seen the golden yellow large squash at the grocery store and thought to myself, hmm...lets try this vegetable thing. I've never had this type of squash but I've heard it was good and also healthy, so I did a cooking challenge with it! First, I cut in half. It was reallly hard to cut. Then, kinda gross, it smelled a bit unappetizing and had all this gunk and seeds inside. Ewe.. I don't know about this...but not giving up! Scraped this all out. Tried to make "spagetti noodles" with a fork but it turned out like slaw LOL. (I probably should have researched this first but it was too late and I was too hungry) Took a little nibble of the raw squash just to get an idea of the flavor...oh my! This might be good! A little sweet and very tasty, not what I was expecting! Mixed it up with EVOO and cumin, had another little taste and Yum! Also, added a little salt and pepper.  ...
