Pinching Pennies-How to earn a Passive Income Easy-DREAM-PLAN-DO!!

As a working single mom without support, it has been hard to afford the extra's in life, like something as simple as an oil change for my car, when I can hardly make ends meet as it is! If you are like my, you know what I mean. I have learned a few easy ways to earn a little extra on the side to help and stretch those pennies out! God, I love Christmas but dread it as well because of-- you know---commercialism of it. I have to buy presents and spend what I don't have. Not to mention, ugh vacation?! What is that? That is not affordable for me but the plan is ---DREAM-PLAN-DO!

What is your Dream? (or need)
Create a plan. Keep focused on it.
Have patience. Research. Save.
DO IT!

How? Here is how, keep reading on. No, this won't get you rich by no means, but earning and saving ten bucks here an there the easy way- well that is a start and you have to start somewhere. So, I am sharing a few simple things with you-these work. Some may take work to do them, but you can earn money from home or in your spare time.

Sitting in a doctor's office waiting room? Earn money.
Junk laying around the house? Earn money.
Like to play video games? Earn money.
Like to Craft? Earn money.
Love to SHOP? Earn money.

The list goes on, but you get the idea. Take what you like to do, what you have or what you have a few minutes to do- AND EARN MONEY DOING IT!

Here is a list from me of things I do.
***NOTE: I am NOTgetting paid endorsing any of these websites or apps I recommend for income from them. I just use them. (I should get paid from them though ha ha)***
Do you have ideas or things you do not listed? Share them with me!

  1. SELL YOUR STUFF you don't use or crafts on places like Postmark, Mercari, Etsy, E-bay. This is pretty straightforward and easy to do. Many like Poshmark and Mercari don't charge to post an item. Work it to make sales and ship it out. Great Passive income!
  2. SHOP AND RE-SELL you get super cheap at yard sales and thrift stores (of free from Family!) I happened to luck upon a pair of Authentic Chanel shoes I bought cheap and re-sold. Be careful here though as it is easy to get your money tied up in buying and then not selling! Take is slow.
  3. RE-SELL TRASH. No Kidding! Every seen super nice furniture on the side of the road for trash? Pick it up and re-sell it! Weekend yard sale, E-bay, Craigs List, Facebook Etc..Once I even spray painted recycled trash into art and sold it online! It was an experiment and it worked LOL! Re-painted or decoupaged furniture sells well too!
  4. PLAY GAMES I love video games at night to wind down. I love even better that I get paid for them. No, it's not a lot but now I don't even want to play a video game on my phone unless I get paid for it! I use Mistplay and have cashed out ten bucks many times. No strings attached!
  5. SHOP AND EARN Scan your receipts for cash back or gift cards. The hardest thing you have to do is go to the ap and snap a photo of your receipt. Site I use are Fetch, Receipt Pal, Receipt Jar, Pogo, Receipt Hog, Merryfield and Frisbee. Upload the SAME receipt into each application! Upload receipts you find. Upload receipts from Family. Snap away and Earn! I also earn money back from shopping using Rakuten and Upside. These are great ways to earn a little extra and it is FREE!
  6. CRAFTING Sell stuff you make! Sell it online, sell it at craft shows, sell it on this side of the road, sell it at Flea Markets, sell at Facebook Marketplace....endless possibilities here! Bonus: Doing Creative things combats anxiety!
  7. SELL YOUR KNOWLEDGE I am an experience Bookkeeper so I train small business owners on how to keep books and get started. What are you good at that you can teach others?
  8. SURVEYS. Get paid to take surveys and yes  you do get paid. The best I have found is QMEE. Easy money. Do this while waiting in line or the Doctors office. Cash out quick to paypal!
  9. GARDENING. Good at plants? Do your flowers make seeds? (Well most do!) Sell Cuttings, Sell Seeds, replicate plants and re-sell. I grew some Dragon fruit Cacti and Mango Trees from seeds from the fruit I bought in the Grocery store! Do your research. This is not hard.
  10. STOCK MARKET, DAY TRADING AND CRYPTOCURRENCY.  You can make money here but you have to know what you are doing and then-be super careful! Do you research. A LOT of research. I have made money here and lost money here. Start out with Safe slow growing investments.  Invest your pennies. I use Robinhood, Fidelity and Sofi. They were all free to sign up for!
  11. EARNED INTEREST  I get interest on my CHECKING Account monthly. The account is free. The interest earned on the balance is free. It was all free, nothing else to do on my part but put my paycheck into my bank account!
  12. BLOGGING. I don't advertise on my blog (yet) but there is passive income to be made here by allowing advertising on your site.
  13. WRITING If you like writing or researching, you can write and publish an E-book on Amazon. I have not done this yet but have researched it. It's in the plans to do! Check into it!
  14. DATE NIGHT BABYSITTING/HOUSE SITTING/PET SITTING. I have done all three! Date night babysitting is when Mom and Dad want to go out an maybe stay out late or drink and then they get their kids the next day after they are recovered! Safer for the kids and you make (at minimum) $100 a night!
  15. BECOME A NOTARY If you record is clean, you can apply to be a notary and charge for the Notary and Travel expense. Research first and know what you are doing.
  16. HOUSE CLEANING, YARD CLEANING, CAR CLEANING Kinda Self Explanatory. You can advertise yourself on craigslist, next door app, Facebook...etc. I made good money House cleaning a long time ago when I was out work for a few months.
  17. INSTACART / UBER. I have not done this as of yet but maybe one day I will.  At work, we order using Instacart all the time and the delivery people get tipped WELL! Probably $20-$50 or more an hour?? I think it's possible!
This is only a short list of ideas but there are so many more ways to earn on the side. Do your research. I hope this inspires you!!
I will be writing on ways to pinch pennies when you are in debt from my experience...this article to come. Please check back soon!

Spicy Spagetti Squash with Cranberries-A New Experience

Being the adventurous person I am (with food anyway, ha ha), I seen the golden yellow large squash at the grocery store and thought to myself, hmm...lets try this vegetable thing. I've never had this type of squash but I've heard it was good and also healthy, so I did a cooking challenge with it! First, I cut in half. It was reallly hard to cut. Then, kinda gross, it smelled a bit unappetizing and had all this gunk and seeds inside. Ewe.. I don't know about this...but not giving up! Scraped this all out. Tried to make "spagetti noodles" with a fork but it turned out like slaw LOL. (I probably should have researched this first but it was too late and I was too hungry) Took a little nibble of the raw squash just to get an idea of the flavor...oh my! This might be good! A little sweet and very tasty, not what I was expecting! Mixed it up with EVOO and cumin, had another little taste and Yum! Also, added a little salt and pepper.  ...
